Q: How do StreamLink’s products increase resources?

A:  StreamLink does not provide a donor database which most organizations accurately view as essential bur our philosophy is that there are many ways to both increase the amount of dollars organizations raise and to increase the value of every dollar an organization already has.  StreamLink does this by improving relationships with key stakeholders, creating systems that allow for an implementation of best practices and decreasing the amount of staff time needed to manage key organizational functions.

Q:  How does StreamLink keep up to date with best practices?

A:  StreamLink has partnerships with experts in the fields in which it provides software such as Foundation Center and BoadSource.  Not only do these groups provide behind the scenes advice in product development and content but they also have integrated services in StreamLink products.

Q: How did StreamLink choose the products such as Board Management and Foundation Management as the first two offerings?

A:  There was a two part process in making these decisions.  First both StreamLink’s President and its Chief Technology Officer bring nearly 30 years of experience in non-profits to the company and have identified key areas of nonprofits that do not have systems to help manage.  Second, there was extensive market research conducted in 2006 and 2007 that indicated there was a strong need for both of these products.

Q: Does StreamLink do streaming video?

A: No, StreamLink does not do streaming video.  The name StreamLink comes from streamlining organizations and linking resources.

Q: Does StreamLink’s products integrate with other donor database, membership software, Microsoft Outlook or other software?

A:  As a web based system StreamLink can integrate with a variety of software and the contact management does integrate with Outlook.

Q:  What are the internal capacity requirements that an organization needs to run the software?

A:  As a web system the only thing that an organization needs is an internet connection with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher or other popular internet browser including Firefox.  As non-profits traditionally have fewer resources for infrastructure a web based system provides maximum system capability with the least amount of infrastructure costs.

Q: If my data is saved on the web is it safe?

A: StreamLink utilizes storage and security provided by Blue Bridge if you want further information on Blue Bridge click here.

Q: If my data is on the web isn’t there a risk that the internet at my office will go down and I will not be able to access it?

A:  The risk of the internet at your office going down is real but if it does you can access your data from anywhere not just your office.  If, however, you have software on an internal network and the internal network goes down you will not be able to have any access to the data.

Q:  What is StreamLink’s corporate philosophy?

A:  StreamLink’s philosophy is to increase the value of every dollar an organization has and thus increase the ability of the organization to meet it’s mission.  StreamLink works hard to provide products at price points that will ensure an increase in organizational value for each customer.

Q:  What size organization can afford and benefit from the software?

A:  StreamLink has customers with budgets of more than $700 million and less than $700 thousand.  Customers include health and human service organizations, associations, colleges and universities and arts organizations.

Q:  What is the cost of training and how much is necessary?

A:  There is no additional cost for training.  The amount of training obviously depends on the individual but it should not take more than an hour and a half to completely learn a system as most software follows the same principles as Microsoft office and utilizes as much point and click as possible.  You will not have to hit F2 for anything.

Q:  How will I receive upgrades?

A:  StreamLink encourages customer feedback and will on annual basis upgrade the software based on this feedback.  As a web based system upgrades will come automatically and be included with each annual renewal.

Q:  How much does it cost and what's included?

A:  The software price depends on the size of the organization but all price points recognize the limited resources that nonprofit organizations have. Included in the upfront price and annual subscription is technical support, traning, hosting, and all future upgrades/versions of the software.
